Executive Team:

Julia Fournier, Managing Partner

Ted Weyn, Managing Partner

Susan Richards, FCMA, Chief Financial Officer

Susan loves bringing a combination of strategy, management and accounting to her role as Chief Financial Officer.  Prior to joining HCMWorks, Susan earned her stripes as CFO at a trio of successful Ottawa tech companies: bitHeads, Chipworks and Momentous, where she honed her skills of balancing integral financial reporting with creative financial solutions to help these businesses succeed.  Susan is a passionate management accountant and over the years has done her best to distill the boring images traditionally associated with the accounting industry in favor of a more dynamic approach focused on the strategic side of the art of financial balance.

Susan has earned recognition over the years including being awarded a CMA Creative Leadership Awards for business “Intuition” in April 2009, as well as being a Profiled CMA in the April 2007 edition of CMA Management magazine.   In October 2010, Susan was appointed a Fellow of The Society of Certified Management Accountants of Canada (FCMA).  Prior to dedicating so much time to the three pillars of strategy, management and accounting,  Susan was raised in Prince Edward Island where she had a wonderful childhood, attended UPEI  (BBA/Accounting), and developed a love of family business.

Susan spends her spare time with her husband and 3 ‘hims’,  running 1/2 marathons, serving on a variety of non-profit boards and watching “Dancing with the Stars”.
